AMP is a nationwide program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) since 1993 in an effort to increase the enrollment, retention, and graduation rate of underrepresented minority students majoring in Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines. Temple joined the greater Philadelphia AMP program in 1994. Philadelphia AMP is a partnership of nine of universities from the three adjoining states: New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
The student-centered AMP organization at Temple University is designed to develop the comprehensive strategies necessary to increase the number of minority students who successfully complete baccalaureates in the STEM fields.
